Michael S. Lucy, Executive Advisor, specializes in US / Canadian energy relationships, government and regulatory affairs and North American energy project development.  Previous responsibilities include serving as President & CEO of Northeast Gas Markets, LLC. (NEGM, a majority owned affiliate of National Grid  ( KeySpan) from 1995 to 2007, providing energy project development, management and consulting services to a consortium of Northeast U.S. LDCs.   Before forming the NEGM joint venture, he was a senior officer at J. Makowski Company and it's successor, US Generating Company with responsibility for the firm’s Government Affairs, Public Relations and Environmental Policy sectors in support of gas and electric project development.  From 1994 to 1996 he was President of US Generating (Canada) Ltd., based in Calgary, responsible for the company's interests in Canada.

Mr. Lucy served as Chairman of the Government Relations Committee of the Iroquois Gas Transmission System, a pipeline system built to transport Canadian gas into the Northeast and guided the strategies leading to successful construction of that important project in the face of withering local opposition.  Before joining J. Makowski Company, Mr. Lucy served ten years with the U.S. Department of State as a Foreign Service Officer.  He served as International Economist for the Office of International Energy Policy where he analyzed policy and developed negotiating positions concerning imports of natural gas from Canada and Mexico, and LNG from Algeria.  He also coordinated U.S. positions on bilateral energy relations with Canada and issues related to the Alaska Gas Pipeline Project.

Mr. Lucy holds a BA in Economics from the University of Massachusetts and a Certificate in Economic/Commercial studies from the U.S. Foreign Service Institute. Mr. Lucy presently has affiliations with the following organizations: the American Gas Association, the New England Gas Association (former Director), the International Association of Energy Economists (New England), the New England/Canada Business Council (Director, Past President), the American Friends of Canada (Director), the Canadian Energy Research Institute (Director), the Society of Gas Lighters, and the Guild of Gas Managers.
